Born April 17, 1959, in Leningrad, USSR.
Musician, composer, musical educator.
1973 - First composing experience (for a school production of «The Ugly Duckling», no recording survived).
1974 – first large-scale international tour around the countries of Eastern Europe as a member of classical guitar ensemble.
Late 1970s – 1990s – multiple collaborations with various artists and bands of the Leningrad rock music scene, both as a musician and author of song arrangements.
1981 – graduated the State Institute of Culture, going on to oversee and direct the work of several different folk orchestras and also teach music.
1992-1997, 2013-2022 – lead guitar player and arranging composer of the rock band Akvarium.
From 1995 – composing, recording and producing scores for over a hundred various feature films, documentaries, TV shows and theatrical productions (the latter occasionally including performing live), working with various film directors (S. Karandashov, A. Kiselev, N. Volkov etc.). Especially fruitful is the collaboration with director Alexandr Veledinskiy («The law», «It's Russian», «Alive», «The Geographer Drank Away His Globe», «Ladoga» etc.).
2013 – Mikael Tariverdiev special prize (XXIV Open Russian Film Festival «Kinotavr»), for music score to «The Geographer Drank Away His Globe».
2014 – «Nika» award for the same film score.
Since 2005 regularly works with theatre director Genya Glyukk, also taking part in the Vampuka theatre-concert since 2012.
